Holiday House Tour

Twenty Fifth Annual Flushing Historic Holiday House Tour to be held December 9th

Bowne House will be open from 1-3

This year marks the twenty fifth anniversary of the Historic Holiday House Tour. Once again, six historic buildings in downtown Flushing will be decorated for the holidays. Most of these sites are within walking distance of each other.

Each site will offer a different attraction. They are – The Voelker Orth Museum, Kingsland Homestead, Lewis H. Latimer House, The Friends Meeting House, Flushing Town Hall, and The Bowne House. All except for the Bowne House will be open from 1 to 5 PM. Bowne House will be open for visitors from 1 to 3 only. A talk on American holiday traditions through the centuries will be given at 1:30 and 2:30. This year we will add a third talk in Mandarin, to be given at 2 PM. Refreshments will be offered at many of the sites, including Bowne House.

Tickets for admission to all six sites at $10 (children under 12 are free) are available for advance purchase from the Queens Historical Society at 718-939-0647; their website is www.queenshistoricalsociety.org. Tickets may also be purchased at any of the sites the day of the event for an additional charge of $2.

Please join us for this festive event. Once restoration is underway, work schedules may not permit a holiday visit.
