DESCRIPTION: Halloween comes once a year, but the dead speak every day at the Bowne House, the second oldest house in New York City. Learn the history of John Bowne and his family at a site once considered a shrine to freedom of conscience. Nine generations of Bowne descendants lived, loved, worshipped, and died within its walls, leaving behind their original furniture, belongings, and personal papers to “haunt” this ground. Visitors will view original collections and artifacts in the family home, while hearing voices from the past resurrected from the Bowne House Archives.
Who knows- you may even glimpse the long-rumored Bowne House Ghost!
